American staying in Bucharest would like to stay. Any Advice?

Hello,

Im currently in Bucharest, would like to stay if I can find work!
Have been applying at E-jobs.ro mainly.
Also have checked here of course. Any other jobs sites geared towards English speaking positions?
Also if neccesary I will apply for a long stay was wondering if anyone can advise on this process? Would like to enroll in Romanian speaking courses, would this be an adequate reason for them to grant a long stay?

Many thanks for any input.

Hello Ant.

Welcome to Expat.com!

You can post an advert in the jobs in Bucharest section. It could help. :)

Hope other members will soon give you some informations.

Good luck in your research,
Aurélie

Hi Ant,

You could enroll on a university course and that would get you a student visa, I suppose. The first year is (or used to be, haven't checked if they've changed things) a language course to get your Romanian up to the required level. It's pretty expensive for non-Romanians though, several hundred dollars per month, if memory serves.

Getting a job will be harder if you don't have an EU passport. What is your field of expertise? What languages do you speak other than English?

All the best.

Try bestjobs.com, it has more job ads. Also look for the multinationals located in Romania - there you will have more changes of finding a job that doesn't require you to know Romanian.
