Expat blog gatherings in Rio de Janeiro

Hi all!

What about meeting the other Rio de Janeiro Expat.com members in real life? Organizing an Expat.com meet up would be an excellent way to know them! :)

An Expat.com meet up can be a diner gathering, having coffee, a bring and share in a nice place, a cultural or sports activity, etc. There are plenty of possibilities: just imagine a pleasant way to meet new people and old friends from Expat.com.

Feel free to organize Expat.com get-togethers in Rio de Janeiro: you would meet the other members in a friendly atmosphere and have a good time together!

Of course, we could offer some help to organize your meet up and to inform the community.

So, who's in? Do not hesitate to start a new thread to suggest an Expat.com gathering in Rio de Janeiro. ;)

Best,

Julien

I think that would be fun! How about someplace in Ipanema?

Same thing in Sao Paulo will be great :)

i think its a great idea

Hello all. :)

Do not hesitate to propose a date, an hour and a place. :)

Other members might be interested to join.

The date should be given 2 or 3 weeks in advance so as to have a maximum of participants. ;)

Thank you,
Aurélie

I am going to Brazil in December to Belo Horizonte. It would be great to have a meetup with the Expat living there. When I was in Buenos Aires we had a once a month Wine Tasting first Thursday of each month. It start with 6 people and when I left the average was 20 to 50 people. I met so many good friend this way.

Let's do it in Rio.. but pls someone else organize? I'm out of time...

OH!!! Ipanema sounds good!!

well this isn't an Expat.com meetup, but I am speaking at the invitation of the International Club here, on my work. please come!  Here's the info:

The International Club is hosting an English-language event this coming Tuesday evening (Aug 14) at La Fiorentina restaurant in Leme, and I'm the speaker!

It's at 7 pm, at no cost (but a R$ 10 donation to charity will gladly be accepted), and you pay your own tab.

I'll answer questions and talk about Rio de Janeiro's "Magic Moment" of transformation into a major Global Metropolis, host of the next Olympic Games. Just how much magic in involved? The food is great, and the place is a hallowed hangout for theater folks (and others, hehe).

Yeah Ipanema sounds pretty nice!what about doing it on sunday?
