Dear parents,

Following the prefectural decree of March 15, 2021, I regret to inform you that the French school of Tamatave is closed from this day until further notice.
The educational continuity will be done remotely via pronote, beneylu school and mail.
For families and staff who encounter connection difficulties, a special system will be offered to them.
In the meantime, receive dear parents our cordial greetings.

My daughter said that her school principal had received a notice saying that if there was a student with covid in a Malagasy school, the school had to close. The French high school in Tamatave has five cases, so they have to close the school now.

From the President's speech last night to the nation. 

The borders of Mahajanga and Nosy Be cities are closed for the next 15 days, President Andry Rajoelina says. Nosy Be, who has so far been hosting tourists from countries deemed not at risk, will have to stop receiving international flights. The last flight scheduled for March 27

No lockdown, announces President Andry Rajoelina. Different measures are being put in place to combat the spread of Covid-19.
- All Basic Health Centres (CSBs) prescribe treatments to all symptoms (CVO and Azytromicin)
- For confirmed cases and serious cases, all manarapenitra hospitals are entitled to receive them. For Tana it's Andohatapenaka, Anosiala, HJRA, HJRB and Fenoarivo.
- Regarding testing centers, for Antananarivo it's HJRA and Village Voara. For regions, Manarapenitra hospitals and CHRDs.
- Respecting barrier gestures: distancing, mask wearing, handwashing, sanitizing schools and public transportation.
- Ban on meetings of more than 200 people
- Sports meetings must be held behind closed doors, and outdoors
- Maximum number of people allowed to attend funeral is limited to 10 if the cause of death is Covid-19
- Resumption of activities of the Special Intervention Brigade (BIS)
- The digital platform ′′ covdata ′′ is reactivated

President Andry Rajoelina stresses that the South African Covid-19 variant is present in Madagascar. 7 patients are currently concerned. Also, no news if Madagascar will accept the vaccine, which is still under discussion and debate over the next week.
