Arrived in Diego Suarez - Recommendations for a Generator?

MalcolmEdward

Good Evening

Happy to have left London behind and moved into my apartment in Avenir, Antsiranana. Some doubts during October with all the flight cancellations. A little disappointed that electricity and water cuts are continuing, even intensifying, can make working remotely difficult. The next step is a generator, any recommendations, advice?

Regards

Malcolm

Hello, ideally you would use a rechargeable battery that works when the mains electricity is available, or solar panels. I'm including a link to the type of equipment you can find in Madagascar; specialized stores in Antananarivo (Tana) likely sell it. Only buy well-known brands. Also, install a voltage regulator on your outlet to protect your equipment.

Thank you I live in a rented apartment so fixed solar panels are not an option and with the length and regularity of the power cuts, a generator is the only practical answer. Fortunately, it can be housed in the garage that comes with the apartment. The Agent has been helpful and arranged for me to meet with a professional electrician for advice.
