Hi I own an overseas property and pay annually in the overseas country a property value tax. In terms of Italy IVIE tax and the 0.76% of the property cadastrale of this overseas property, my question is If tax has been applied in the country of origin for property value can this be reclaimed through your Italian tax return if there is a double taxation treaty with Italy ?
or is double taxation rules only for income ?

Hi Lentini 74 yes the tax paid overseas on that property can be direclty claimed and cleared in the italian tax return, under certain circumstances.
