Chiang Mai for 3 months accom advice

Hi ex pat comunity, I'm planning to come to Chiang Mai in July this year for two weeks and scope out a few apartments to rent for three months in July August and September of 2020 I'm looking at 1 bedroom preferably with a small kitchenette balcony and swimming pool can anyone give me some heads up information so that when I arrive in July I know exactly what to go and look at without wasting too much time and of course if you wanted to catch up while I'm there and give me a few pointers I'm always open to a couple of beers and a chat I'll be travelling on my own for this journey but when I return I will be coming with my wife to live for three months we have been to Chiang Mai before and we loved it although we were looking at the place through the eyes of tourists and now we plan to do a little more slow travelling so any advice good bad or ugly is always appreciated.

My go-to site in regards to finding short term rental properties is the website:

https://www.renthub.in.th/en

I am looking for a long term stay as well, but in my case, I am looking at staying in Maha Sarakham (with a few days visit to Chiang Mai).

Hey thanks for the heads up I'm going to check that website out and see what it leads to appreciate any advice I can get at this point in time

Another site to consider is:

http://chiangmaiproperties.co.th/EN/index.aspx

This site is nice in that you can tailor the amenities for the place you are looking for, as well as neighborhood location and budget. This site is exclusive to the Chiang Mai area.

we've been checking out  https://perfecthomes.co.th/ and I found a site called Hipflat. so there are a few around.... Wonder if any E-Pats have a first hand account with dealing on these sites

I think I have browsed that site. I highly recommend Chiang Mai Properties because you can tailor what you are looking for by the location in Chiang Mai, the amenities offered in the available apartments and how much you want to pay for your accommodations. Chiang Mai Properties was my go-to site until I changed my location of choice to Maha Sarakham. Chiang Mai Properties has more choices than Perfect Homes, as well as having more choices and price options. One more choice to consider is "DD Properties", but I put them in the same league as Perfect homes in that the apartment options are limited. I actually had a few text conversations with the realtors from Chiang Mai Properties. Feel free to PM me for other sights and my "limited" insights for you to weigh your options.

Hey thanks for the advice, sorry for the delay in response.... life gets busy... less than a month to go.

I'm sure you will find what you are looking for. We will be stateside the month of July but please check out on Facebook Chiang Mai Pickleball Group. Great people and a lot of fun. Good luck to both of you.

Thanks.... I'll go check is out

*** then post it here under "housing". I think you and your wife might like it. Since I do not know when it will be posted on this website, I have pasted a link here for you to see the photos. ***

Reason : Accomodation offers are allowed only in the Housing section + contact details should be exchanged via private messaging only for your own safety.

Hi, I am wanting to join up for Renthub. But most of it in Thai. Is there anyway one can overcome this so it is in English, Many thanks, Brian

Aussie Brian -
On the web sites home page, on the upper right corner, there is a box with Thai writing, preceded by a globe. Click on the box and the drop down menu should show a list of options, one of which is English.

Alternately, the web page will be translated automatically if you use chrome browser with the Google Translate extension.

(sorry for the repeat. I wanted to include your question in my response).

Many thanks for the reply my friend. This site seems a good all round site for accommodation in Thailand, especially Chiang Mai. Am I right???? Many thanks, Brian

Yes,
Renthub is my go-to site for rentals (in my case, short term) rental apartments and condos. There are other rental sites, but for the most part, these sites are redundant. On the whole, Renthub would be the best bet for rental searches. Feel free to PM me for some other rental site suggestions depending on where you want to stay. Some other rental sites for Chiang Mai are as follows:

http://chiangmaiproperties.co.th/EN/index.aspx

Exclusive to Chiang Mai. This site is nice in that not only is the site in English but offers more detailed customization of your searches in Chiang Mai.

https://www.ddproperty.com/en

Not as extensive as Renthub, but a good secondary search source

https://www.thailand-property.com/

Another decent secondary source.

Feel free to PM me for more site suggestions and personal insights

Hi all, can someone please tell me the district the Walled City is in? I am also interested In apartment accommodation for 3 months from September to late November. Any site worthwhile looking at? I am restricted in accommodation with a lift. Any feedback/ suggestions much appreciated, Brian

The district in question containing the "walled city" is Muang district. I suggest looking at the rent hub website for an apartment with the specifications you are looking for. I took the liberty of finding a link with general specs you are looking for:

https://www.renthub.in.th/en/apartment/chiang-mai

Here is another listing of short term apartments:

https://www.renthub.in.th/en/short-term … chiang-mai

Most of the info you are looking for I found with a little digging on the website in question and google. Here is another site-specific to Chiang Mai with a bit of a head start regarding the criteria you are looking for.

http://chiangmaiproperties.co.th/EN/Pro … ;max=10000

Hi, Many thanks for the reply. I appreciate your help as it has given me a starting point for me to do some homework. Once again many thanks, Brian
