Advise visa extention/renewal

Hello,
I need some advise concerning visa prolongation. Im from switzerland and currently i have 3 months multiple entry visa. I applied online for the same type of visa and was told to pay more than 400 usd!
Does anybody know if this is an official price? It seems totally overpriced to me..
Or can somebody provide a better and cheaper solution?
Thx for your help,
Rian

Extensions are a pain and expensive. However you should not have to pay more than 200USD.

If it is a tourist visa then there are tourist agencies and hotels that can do an extension for you, however you may only be able to get 1 month, not 3. If you have a business visa you need to find a visa agent. In theory you can go to the Department of Immigration and do it yourself but it can be risky. Some people have tried and been told they have to use an agent... which is a lie. The staff at the department just want to deal with agencies because they know about the """fees""".

If you are in Saigon the cheapest option is to use an agent to buy another Approval Letter for a new visa-on-arrival at the Moc Bai border gate with Cambodia. Find an agent that can help you with that process.

.
Many (most?) of us just do the border runs every 3 months.

The bus runs are uncomfortable, boring & dirty, but cheap...

Currently, a fly-in VOA (Visa On Arrival) 3-month multiple entry
via agency is USD$50, and $25 for 3-month single entry.

Add agency fees are from approx. $10 to $20.   Tripadvisor
rates the popular ones people have reviewed positively, saving
you the time going thru the pages of agency listings.  My vote!

Vietnam Immigration do not want to know you!   Agencies do
the work for them and even intensive enquiries lead nowhere.

Sure, with VOA you must wait approx. 30 mins to get the Visa in
your passport and THEN queue to get it stamped, but applying
thru an embassy or consulate means you will be charged very
severely and treated with the same attitude.
I only did it once, never again.  Far too expensive.

One (or two?) days every 3 months is easier than working on
a weekend, and apart from the Tet mass migration is a very
manageable and cheap method for poverty-stricken teachers...

Strokes for folks.   Try it to see if it suits you.      :idontagree:

Thx very much for the fast reply and the good advise guys, i totally appreciate it. Kind regards, god bless.
