Thinking of moving to Mozambique

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site.
My fiance, daughter (two and a half) and I are currently living in Cape Town, we are South African but are considering moving to Mozambique. We have never been to Mozambique and were wondering what life is like in general there. Are jobs hard to come by? Are Visa's difficult to get and renew? Is the cost of living similar to SA? What are the pro's and con's of living in Mozambique? Is it difficult with little kiddies?

Any advise and help will be greatly appreciated!

I am a new member as well. I live in Moz since 2008. It depends what you want to do in Mozambique. If you don't find employment or start a company you cannot get a residential permit. You must have a work permit first. The residential permit now costs about R5500 per year. Otherwise you have to cross the border every 30 days.
