The cost is not good most times, they try to charge different to foreigners, they inflate, which doesn't make people want to visit, I think if they charged the same that they charged the locals, people would see the savings benefits to go and stay in different areas, see the country, they might get a few rich people, but only a few benefits, the rest won't, someone said once, if I'm being charged the same price as America why would I go there, the mind set for travelers is to get the most out of there money, so when they go and are being charged the same as where their from, but knowing that the cost is different for locals, they don't want to visit, and not having people visit because the prices are low, will kill your tourism, it's not like alot of people tourist have these places in mind to begin with, they think of warmer climate, so it's obvious... I'm in a area where it's alot of Europeans, from Ukraine, turkey,, Russia, and if they go back to visit and the price is raised for them only, you'll never see them again, the restaurant will not have tourist, and the people end up losing out, 10 thousand visitors to a restaurant paying what the real price is for locals, vs. 10 visitors buying unhapply and ready to go back and complain about what happened in that country and how their inflating the price because their foreigners. My statements are based on the effects it has on the normal people who end up suffering because of these scams. I analyzed what the circumstance is, what discussion I have had with those from European countries, about the state of the countries and then I analyze what happens in the country. I'm just analyzing a circumstance, plus for my own benefit I do research. This is what happens, this is probably why they say what they say.
If you scam someone in business you might get a little for a short while, but if you do good business you will profit a lot for a long time... Do what benefits the client and they will continue to use your services.
So check around, some people try to scam, find out what it is really suppused to be in price, and then find the ones you like that are charging the correct pricing and providing benefits, not trying scam you into paying them more money.
I read with interest about the scams in your eyes. I live in the Ukraine am British, i speak a little Russian and Ukrainian, and i have never been scam'd or ripped off. I can only assume that with a negative attitude brings distrust.
Don't get me wrong there there are a few people out for a quick buck. But hay its not unique to the Ukraine its all over the world, Americans will take your eyes out given a chance, brits will come back for your bones. Try and be a little more positive, be constructive and all will be good
