Going out in Milan

Hi there,

Which are your 10 favorite places to go out in Milan?

Which places would you recommend to newcomers? (restaurants, pubs, discos, theaters, cinemas, concert halls...)

Thanks!

alcatraz! rolling stones, karma! to name a feww

My recommendations:

- best pizza (and possibly cheapest restaurant in Milan): Piccola Ischia (three locations, via Morgagni, viale Abruzzi, viale Umbria)

- best gelato: Rinomata (where Naviglio Grande and Pavese meet)

- best Milanese restaurant (you gotta try authentic Milan/Lombardy food since you're here): Osteria Il Gatto Nero (at Ortica, old style Milan restaurant, not classy and no frills, but not cheap either) and Osteria del Binari (via Tortona, fashion/design street in Porta Genova area, might be expensive or not, very nice, good service, great food)

- best Brazilian churrascaria: Rio's (most overhyped: Picanha's)

- best live music place: Nidaba Theatre in via Gola (blues, rock blues, country, folk, rock'n'roll)

- best aperitivo: Art Factory (@ Caiazzo), Puerto Alegre (on Sunday evening, dj&dance after 10pm)

- cafeteria with best view of the city: Rinascente 7th floor

- best bars with free entrance: Ragoo, Rocket, Atomic

Rolling Stones has moved from its original location.

Another good microbrewery is "Giardino della Birra", where meat is very good, too.

Irish pub: I recommend Pogue Mahone's, in via Salmini, right by Piazzale Medaglie d'Oro (Porta Romana). Very good Irish brunch and great atmosphere during Six Nations Rugby games.
English pub: you should find some Brits, especially during soccer and rugby games at the English Football Pub in via Valpetrosa (via Torino) or at 4-4-2 in via Procaccini.
