Should or shouldn't learn English in Thailand

I would say no to learning English in Thailand.  Quality is limited. Standard are mixed.

If you live in Thailand an have no choice then okay.

I would suggest Malaysia (especially among older Malays) or even the Philippines though word choice and sentence construction is different. Or even Singapore. There you would be able to live he language more outside of class.

The best way to learn any language is within the environment where the language is spoken. The next best thing would be with a native speaker of that language.
Last year I took a side trip to Macao. The passenger next to me was a personnel officer at one of the casino's. Everyone who came in to apply for a job said that they had spoken English. The may have had some English but they certainly could hold a conversation in English. The Same holds true in Thailand. Many will say that they speak English or have good language skills only to find out that they don't. I notice the Chinese that come to Chiang Mai often have good English language skills. There must be a reason for that.

In CM, it's true that English is the second language, but as Altrini reports: "Standard are mixed".

Of course there are English language schools in Chiang Mai, and TESOL teachers such as myself welcome all the demand they can find. But don't you have these schools in Viet Nam, Tuan?

If you can manage to visit Australia or the USA for an extended period of time, then I think the result will be a lot more satisfactory.

Thanks for your reply. I'm appreciate for that. British Council had been in Vietnam for a long time. I suggest to combine Graphic Design course and Learning English in Thailand for more than 1 month. The British Council' tuition is too high.

Thanks for your information. There are a lot of Eng schools in Viet Nam. I want to combine my Graphic Design course and Learn English together for more than 1 month. I suggest in BKK.
I thought to visit AUS, but the tuition is too high.
