Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional Japanese Language Tutor to join our organisation and provide high-quality Japanese language training to Sri Lankan learners.

We particularly welcome applications from native Japanese speakers or candidates with native-level Japanese proficiency. The ability to communicate in Sinhala and/or Tamil would be a strong advantage, as it will help learners understand lessons more effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct Japanese language classes for Sri Lankan students.

Teach speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Prepare lesson plans, exercises and learning materials.

Support students in developing practical conversational Japanese.

Introduce appropriate aspects of Japanese culture, etiquette and workplace communication.

Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback.

Assist learners in preparing for relevant Japanese language examinations where required.

Create an engaging, supportive and professional learning environment.

Requirements

Excellent command of the Japanese language.

Native Japanese speaker or native-level proficiency preferred.

Ability to communicate in Sinhala and/or Tamil is highly preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Passion for teaching and supporting language learners.

Ability to explain Japanese language concepts clearly and patiently.

Good understanding of Japanese culture and communication practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience teaching Japanese as a foreign language.

Relevant Japanese language teaching qualification or certification would be an advantage.

Experience working with Sri Lankan or international students would be beneficial.

Knowledge of JLPT/JFT or other Japanese language examinations would be an added advantage.
