ARMS and new rules in force

Spiridonov

After all these topics with congratulations to Patricia Graham and Co for their win in the battle against ARMS, I was trying to check the new regulations in practice.

Small brief of my history: we are non-EU residents (so, the situation is even worse), we've bought the apartments in Malta in October 2012 and we have been trying to register ourselves in our own apartment since that time. The main reason for rejection was the line in the bottom of 'Form H', which states that we need to be 'Long-Term Residents' in Malta to register in our own apartment.

After this battle with Patricia, ARMS just removed the line and updated the Form H, everything else remains the same. We've applied again and voilà: as I can see from the web-site (and from our new bill) - we've been registered finally.

So new changes are applicable for all, even TCN can register now in the apartments and get lower tariffs before 5-years period till Long-Term Residence.

Thank you Patricia and all EU citizens who defended our rights as well (maybe, unintentionally)! :)

Now the next step will be: recalculation of the bills from October 2012 when our first Form H was sent and get the refund. Ok, not in cash (I am not so gullible) but into the account in ARMS for the future bills.

the "win" has no effect on those tenants whose landlords refuses to sign form H or will not allow them be billed - if they press it they are often requested to leave and non too politely

Sure, toonarmy, it's not resolve all problems, but at least some of them.
