Major exports are salt, fish, live animal, raw hides and skins and handicrafts. Services constitue a major share in economy. N

Located at the intersection of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, Djibouti is a small but powerful Eastern African country. Its location at the joint of these two seas means it’s a key stop on shipping routes. It also serves as an important military station, and thousands of American soldiers are based here.
