Looking for work in Portugal? Please read this ...

A. IF YOU ARE NOT IN PORTUGAL:

You must first obtain a Visa in one of the Portuguese Consulates in your home country:

Remember that THIS FORUM IS NOT AN EMPLOYMENT AGENCY. Here you won't find anyone who can help you to get a visa and give you a work contract.

Please, DO NOT POST JOB REQUESTS HERE, whether by creating new threads or by posting in other threads already created by others. It is very likely that your post WILL BE DELETED.

B. IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY IN PORTUGAL:

B1. ARE YOU HOLDING A TOURIST VISA? ARE YOU ILLEGAL?

You cannot work in Portugal under these conditions.

According to Portuguese law, an immigrant has the right to work in the country as long as he/she has the appropriate visa which authorises you to work.

Be aware that you are taking risks. It is very likely that you will be disappointed with people who take advantage of your illegal situation. It is very likely that you will lose money and be forced to leave the country.

You should have no illusions about this.

B2. IF YOU ARE LEGAL IN PORTUGAL:

B2a. If you have any higher education degree that qualifies you for a qualified and better paid job?

If you don't find here what you're looking for, you can open a new thread and post your question. Try to detail what you want to know to have better chances of getting an answer. You won't get answers here with generic posts asking for a job.

B2b. If you don't have any qualified training / certified qualifications VALID for European Countries, it is very unlikely to get a job in Portugal.

- Wages in Portugal are very low for jobs without any specific training. Besides, these offers are lower paid in Portugal than in other European countries. The standard of living here is high for minimum wages you will be paid for this type of work.

- Sectors where you can find work are: construction, logistics, factories or food services.

- Remember that THIS FORUM IS NOT AN EMPLOYMENT AGENCY. You won't find anyone here who can help you with a work contract.

- You may find seasonal jobs, for example picking fruit, but you risk being explored by unscrupulous people while your working conditions have not been reported to the authorities. These might be Portuguese people, but they might also be people from your own country... They may even offer you accommodation, but you should be aware that the accommodation will not be in as good as you are expecting and it will probably be occupied (overoccupied) by other people working under same conditions.
