Hello all. I have been in the US all my life. I am ready to travel. I have pinpointed London as my first destination. I have been doing some investigations and have a few contacts. What are the initial things I need to do to make this possible? Best areas to live? Flights? Visa? Cell phone? Restaurant jobs? Banking?

Yes, I am trying to move to London. I have some work contacts with my current job. I've been told and seen that I should get a job before a visa in order to get sponsored. Trying to see what the better areas of town are and the cheaper flats. Also what are the major banks. Any other pointers will be greatly appreciated.
