Who May See Your Documents When Out Driving

I have been asked recently by my clients ‘who can ask to see my documents when out driving?' I thought that this may be of use to others as well.

Municipality police may see
Drivers licence
Tax certificate

They may not see your cedula, vehicle registration document nor your car insurance.

They wear different uniforms depending on their municipality. Often blue trousers and white or blue shirt. In Asuncion they wear blue trousers and white shirts.

National police may see
Cedula
Vehicle registration (Cedula verde)
Car insurance

They may not see your driver's licence nor your car tax certificate.

Their uniforms are sandy coloured shirts and trousers.

Policia Caminera these are traffic police, they can see all your documents.

Their uniforms are light blue shirts and grey trousers.
