Running shoes stores

Hi everyone,

Does anyone train running regularly?
I am looking for a store where I can buy running shoes.
Mine are reaching the limit of use and I need to find a store where people understand the concept of supination and pronation.
So far, I've been to some stores where people didn't know anything about sport.
Ok we are in VN but there are limits ; you don't work in sport store if you don't know anything about sport... :unsure
If you have any recommendation of stores specialized in running, marathon, triathlon, keep me posted.

Thank you very much,
Mathieu

I suggest that you buy online, this way you get more options to choose from. Here you can find a lot of good cheap running shoes

The problem with buying online is the fit.

Supination and pronation???????
I guess I'll never work in a shoe store.
There are tons of places to buy quality running shoes here,
And the store have the shoes in different sections, training, running, etc etc etc. And several brand names in each store.
Oh well, best of luck to you .

No you aren't likely to find highly specialized pro-shops for serious marathon types, or even anything like Foot Locker here. Van Hanh mall has single-company stores, a Reeboks, a Puma and a Nike store. I'm sure you know more than the sales people selling the fashion shoes.

There are specialised Asics and Adidas stores in one of the HCMC downtown malls, Takeshimya or Saigon Centre, one of those, can't remember which. Both carry a range of these brands' running shoes but I can't comment on the product knowledge of the staff. There may be others in the same malls as well I think e.g. Reebok

There is a sports store at Vincom Mall in D2 that has a custom shoe finder.  I think it is Planet Sports.  I haven't actually gone but a friend of mine told me about it.

although this is originally an old Post, i thought i would update with the latest relevant info i have today for those many (?) subscribers who might be interested.

when i last looked today and about two years ago, i found the previously mentioned SuperSports (on-line) useless. possibly if you can find their physical store in HCMC, that might be a lot better. the other shops they apparently opened in other VN cities are now apparently closed.

last time ~two years ago, i found buying on-line from VN sites highly problematic with wrong sizes and long delays when they shopped from US anyway, and impossible returns and buying from US sites, eg Amazon or actual US running shoe shops, where you could expect at least to get a genuine shoe in the correct size, the additional shipping cost made it quite prohibitive.

today though i had better luck for some reason. note: i was eschewing shops that only offered ASICS and Adidas and such as i do not like those brands for running shoes (my current pair are by 1st (and last) ASICS - very poorly made indeed, The inner just fell apart, and despite several efforts with heel inserts, etc, i had constant huge blisters and other abrasions - the photos would shock you.)

so i narrowed it down to just Nike (my very first shoe), although i actually now prefer New Balance, as they seemed more available on searching.

so the results of today's searching resulted in these two sites that are both working perfectly well.

here is an official ASICS VN site i saw in passing ...

oh, and as a bonus, here are the latest Running World review/s for Nike shoes (check for other reviews on their site) ...
