Hi I'm new in Jeddah, teaching english at a private institute, 43 years old northern irish male. I love sports and meeting people. I'd love to snorkel/dive, play sports, meet up with others. Thanks for the replies. My company gives me a housing allowance of 400 US dollars a month. I'm not sure how much apartment this will buy. I don't mind sharing with someone. Compounds are expensive no?

Yes you have to find shared apartment.

Hey Mike,
You may find Studio/1bedroom furnished apartments in the USD400 monthly range.
I am currently in a 2 bedroom furnished apartment SAR 3000 monthly and sharing with a brit expat. I will pass you the contact information for the building management and see if they have any vacant studios.
Location is : Salamah District, Prince Sultan Street.
