Need to get work permit

The employer has to apply for the employment pass so the solution is to find a job. Do note you will need to exit Malaysia while their application is carried out (rule brought in August 2016).

Jobstreet is the main job portal and sometimes Robert Walters will put forward foreigners for jobs as will SpringAsia Professional. Added some more info to previous response about some places to look for work. Do look other places than KL as getting jobs in other areas of the country can be easier.
