Divorce in Mauritius

Hi
I was married in Mauritius in 2006 and am now looking to get a divorce.
I'm living in Ireland and from Ireland
Can I get a divorce from here or do I need go to Mauritius to get one,
I've talked to one solicitor here but he was not much help as he had never dealt with a case like this before
Thanks

Hi, I presume your spouse is of Mauritian national. You may enter your action in Ireland subject to the authority there recognising your civil marriage conducted in Mauritius. What about your spouse now? Is he or she presently living in Mauritius and is also looking fwd for a divorce?

I got married in Barbados in 2005.
I got divorced last year and the only bit of relevance to Barbados was needing to provide the original marriage certificate.
I can't imagine it's any different in Ireland, although you will need your ex to sign things otherwise it can take a very long time (I think).
Good luck!
