Do and don't in Cameroon

Are you living in Cameroon? We need you to share your experience of the local customs :)

Is it difficult to adjust to the local customs in Cameroon?

Could you please share with us a list of the do's and don't's in Cameroon?

Thanks!

Dear Jade,

If you can read French, you can have a look at our blog:

There are some information that may be of interest for you.

Kind regards.

Do be open minded
Don't be easily offended
Don't act scared
Do be willing to try the local cuisine
Do know at least a bit of French
Do learn about the banking system here before opening an account (nightmare!!)
Do participate in events with the locals (such as marriages) if the opportunity is offered

Other than that, I think all else is simple and natural.

You are absolutely right. Except for opening a bank account. Fortunately, you have a few banks able to give you a reasonably good service.

Best regards.
