Traveling through Slovenia, need help with shipping luggage

My wife and I are heading to Slovenia for a conference and then plan to do some backpacking through neighboring countries.  Our final destination will be in Iran where my wife is from to visit and spend time with her family.

Here is the problem we need help with.

We have one checked bag worth of items that we need to bring for the conference and finally Iran, but we only need/want our backpacks during the rest of travels.

Is it possible to send our bag to Iran for her family to pick up after the conference in Slovenia so that we don't have to lug it around with us for the whole trip?

Information/help about this from someone currently in Slovenia would be great so that we have a plan prepared before leaving home.
