You enter a party where many single people are attending. Just as you go in, a man and a woman are walking past you in the opposite direction. You look at the woman as you start to pass the pair. The man grabs at your shirt.
“What are you looking' at,” he says, staring you in the eye.

3. Explain your behavior and hope he'll drop it...

Personally, I would just point out that she seems like an adult who seems perfectly capable of making her own decisions when it comes to interacting with other individuals either verbally or visually. And that if he is so concerned about her being exposed to other individuals, he might want to consider wrapping her in a veil and confining in his house.
But then again, an adult..capable of making her own decisions.. That should be enough.
