I am applying for job of distribution manager, what you think is salary for this job? As I can see here in this file can be 800000, but I think based on all other links that this is not correct. How much should be salary for comfort life, paying rent and costs and living comfort and not checking every money what and if should i buy or pay? Also my partner will come with me. Of course, for first few months I think he will not find a job.

We often get this postings but the OPs never tell us what their circumstances are.

Do you have kids that will need to be in a private school? Do you expect to have a car? Where in the country will you be located? Is your potential employer paying you as an expat or as a local? How long is the job for? Of which country are you a national? What is your intended level for living? Are you expecting to save money to send back home?  Do you speak Hungarian or another language? Etc etc.

Asking how much is a good salary depends on what you expect.

Hi, so- some additional information. I do not have kids, so no school. For start i will not have a car. I will be allocated in Budapest. It is permanent job, and i think i will be payed as expat. I speak serbian, slovenian, croatian and english. Basic of german and i will learn hungarian. As i wrote- i would like to have comofortable life. Not extra, but that i can save some money at end of the month. I would need smaller but nice apartment for me and my partner.

What kond of salary i can expact? What do you guys think?

Thank you all for your kind feedbacks!

Do you have a degree and how many years experience do you have in that job?

800K HUF gross per month is about EUR 2500. That's relatively high for Hungary for a younger person with degree with a few years experience. But you can expect to take away about 1/2 that due to the high taxes. But even so that would be survivable. I would not describe it as comfortable but perhaps just sufficient.  People survive here on far less!  If your partner worked and paid 1/2 the bills, then it would be comfortable.

Tnx for your feedbacks.

If you clear 400,000 forints a month after taxes that is pretty good money.
You should be able to save some every month even if you rent a flat for 150,000, say half you pay for rent and other bills, leaves you 200,000 for saving or spending.
If you do get paid that well in Hungary you probably could make allot more doing your job in a western European country instead.
Can't really say if it enough for you though, some people have expensive tastes and habits.
A few nice trips clothing shopping in Mom park could set you back some.
The more one makes the more one spends unless you are well organized and put saving first.
I know when my husband made great money years back we could barley save even $5,000 a year. We took big trips, sent our son to private school, had  a huge house with pool and used credit cards for mall shopping trips, Was great at the time but sorry we didn't save more when we could of.
These days we live on a budget which allows us to still take trips to the US or somewhere else once a year without worries.
We budget ourselves to not spend more then 200,000  a month in HU and we pay no rent there.
Some months we spend less and some months more, that's life hard to make plans without a crystal ball.
When I get my own pension life will be sweeter, you should have your partner either look for a job too or make it their job to make up a family budget if you really want to save.
Budapest can be either a reasonable place to live or pricey, going to dinners all the time and buying mixed drinks can add up.
Not great with the math but with 400,000 income that leaves what  roughly 14,000 a day to live on.
About $70. a day? Not bad in HU but hanging in a spa everyday will cut into that fast.

You can see by your answers to your question, everyone has a different lifestyle and different needs, can't really say what is enough for you.
Young people still need to  prove themselves sometimes, need nice cars ,money to go out with etc.
Easy to get caught up in the money trap.
My husband and I are seniors, have more clothing and wears then we know what to do with, had the big house etc. no longer interested in seeing zeros in our bank account.
Personally if I were young and you, I would live somewhere where I was actually making money in my prime and  not just coasting along.
Unless you have family ties to Hungary why waste your time if you have real skills?

If you are a money and career orientated younger professional Hungary will not be the place for you. It is a great place to study and a nice place to be just for the experience.
Most people I have met on here are looking for a quality country to bring up a family, or be retired or semi retired.
I am semi retired and I am really enjoying living in Hungary, in the countryside and in Budapest. If you own or can buy your own accommodation you will make great savings. Rental properties are costing more and more and you can pay as much as 400€ a month just for a basic place. This has doubled over the last four years.
For everything else it depends upon your own personal tastes and desires. I like to do my own cooking, socialise during the daytime and use public transport. The internet access is also relatively cheap. I compare everything to the UK and pay two  thirds less for my day to day living.
Like Marilyn I have enough clothes to sink a battleship and Hungary is not a trendy place so I very rarely get the opportunity to dress up. I buy any clothing that I need in the UK but occasionally spot something nice in the second hand stores.

Any household DIY, white goods, electrical items are best purchased over the border because of the high taxes. I also buy books, art materials and cards mail order to the UK.
Everyone is an individual and has different wants and needs. I have friends who live on very little by sharing accommodation with others.

Ann basically nailed it.
Great family place or cool place to live on the cheap when retired.
If you plan on being a mover and a shaker, wrong place for you.
People seem to only dress up when they are shopping in the malls or going out to dinner or dancing.
When they do dress up it is to the 9'ns.
Of course that also depends on what part of the city you live in.
In the 7th district I dress down when walking by myself.
Too sleazy in many parts, don't want another attempted mugging.
I have not worn my good sparklies in ages, simple wedding ring and watch with plain earrings on walks.
In some parts of Buda people dress like they are in Beverly Hills, Rose Hills...
I don't hang there so no fashion tips about "The Hills".
If you want to make big bucks Hungary is not the place unless you are in the gov. or some sort of gov. contracter.

Woooow! Thank you guys! :D

I decided to come to Budapest. I will start next year in january. :D

I will gain some new knowledge what will be a good start for my position in worldwide company.
