Passport by decent?

Good day

Can anyone tell me if I qualify for a Mauritian passport through decent. My mother was born in Mauritius to 2 Mauritian parents in 1950. The family moved to SA in about 1963 where my mother got SA citizenship and currently has only a SA passport.

Do I as her son, born in SA, qualify for a Mauritian passport? Would she need to re apply for hers in order for me to qualify to apply by decent.

Thanks in advance.

Darren

I don't think you will have any problem. You need to prove that your parents were born in Mauritius by providing their birth certificates.  You can go and haveamauritian id by taking your application to thePrime Ministers office. I know so because both  sons of my friend did just that last year. It is easier to get a Mauritian passport if you were under 18.  All my children havea Mauritian poassport and a British passport to. This makes life easier.
