i really want to visit dominican republic,bavaro beach, in the beginning of january.. someone can tell me if the weather is good? or is it raining ? if it is rainy -does it rain all day or just for a short time?

You will have lots more sun than rain. This is the tropics and a shower is always a possibility but they are usually brief.
My advice..... Pack the sunscreen and LOTS of it as it is very expensive here.
