Best time to cross the causeway

I'm going to Bahrain across the causeway tomorrow for a few nights.
I was planning to go around lunch time 12pm-1pm tomorrow but my colleague is telling me this will be a disaster already. He says I should go tonight after 10pm or tomorrow morning before 10am.

Any suggestions as to when will be better?

I would say go really really really early tomorrow morning.
Tonight is no good as the Eid holiday is starting today and the Causeway will be packed and it would probably take you around 4 hours -probably more- get through.
If I were going I would go as early as 7 am, that way will find very little traffic if any.

Best of luck

Even 7 am can be crowded since a lot of people leave after morning prayers and crowd starts to build up right by that time.  I have found that crossing even earlier than 7, or even before the morning prayers was the easiest one.

I agree with the comments above, Very early in the morning is indeed advisable.

well i arrived at checkpoint island around 9:30 and it took me 1h15 to get through. That wasn't so bad.
On the way back it only took 30mins
I'm going again this weekend so hopefully it will be similar or better

What kind of phone do you have?
There is an app to let you know hiw bad the traffic is on the Causeway

I have an android phone.
Is the app Eljisir?

No its called Zahma
"زحمة أو لا Zahma O La" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta … apps.zahma

I'll check it out but I only have a local sim for calling. There is no roaming or data on it so can't check or update when there. I can only check before I leave and it takes me 1hr15 to get there from Jubail
