Invalidity benefits in france

hi all
try and keep this as short as possible.
i have been registered as an artisan here for 3 years on the auto entrepenuar system.have been recieving sick pay from rsi
for 6 months.when i was diagnosed with a serious heart problem.
so doctor filled out all the paperwork required etc etc etc.
had an appointment with rsi doctor who supported the doctors decision.so,my sick payments were stopped as from the 30th march 2013,and invalidity started from the 1st of april,but to date i have not recieved a payment.when we contacted rsi their reply was computer problems but may be sorted out by the 1st of july.
our problem is we have numerous appointments at hospital etc
and we simply have no funds even for fuel to get there.has anyone been through this procedure here in france.if so can they explain how it works as i have only been resident in france for 6 years and my work history is uk based so how do they decide if i have any entitelemnt to the benefit here in brittany.
