My husband has been offerred a position working on the Nile Corniche. We have two children, 2yo, 1yo and another on the way. He's been told that there is an island nearby that has a good expat community. Can anyone tell me what it is called? I'd like to browse some of the Real Estate websites.

We have a nanny in Dubai and she wants to stay behind when we leave. Can anyone tell me how to go about finding a nanny and driver?

That would be Zamalek. It's a good area for expats, as is Maadi. With kids you may want to look closely at Maadi - at least that's what my friends with kids tell me.

I missed the second part of your question - sorry. Go to the CSA website: livinginegypt.org and check the classifieds. There's a lot of great info there and you'll find answers to many of the questions people normally have when moving to Egypt. You can also post a classified ad asking for a driver, cleaning and childcare and so on.
