Help Need - I got two fines for the same offence

Hi

I was visiting Holland in December 2022 and was stopped in Arnhem by police officers.

They asked me for my driving licence which I did not have with me as i forgot that in the UK.

I was informed not to drive as in the Netherlands you have to carry your licence with you.

Luckily my wife had her licence and she could drive.

They informed me that I will receive a fine in the post.

Well the fine came and a week later I received another for the same offence.

The only difference is the beshikking nummer and the time of the offence being two minutes apart.

Would appreciate if someone can advise what I should do.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for asking your question here.

Any update on your side since your post here?

Are you still in Holland right now?

Have you tried to check with the concerned department?

I hope someone here can help you with that.

All the best,

Cheryl

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

You haven't said why they stopped you, so if for example, you were speeding, then you have 2 offences, hence 2 fines.  If your not having a licence was the only offence, then I would pay the first one and return the second by post.  The different beschikking numbers indicate 2 offences, but perhaps they pressed the button twice, I don't know.

I hope this helps.
