Marriage Equality

I am legally married to an Ecuadorian.  I am a male.  He is a male.  We are husbands.
Does the Ecuadorian government recognize marriage equality from countries where same sex marriages are legal?

I am not a lawyer, but as I understand it, Ecuadorian law defines marriage differently than the USA. Thus, it would not be complete marriage equality.

This Ecuadorian government page has information about the status of marriage

Now, it's going to be equal:

Ecuador's Constitutional Court approved equal civil marriage for same-sex couples. With five votes in favor and four against, the court said Ecuador can apply an opinion of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which establishes more favorable rights for the LGBTI population (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex), without a constitutional reform. The court ruled favorably in the cases of Efraín Soria and Javier Benalcázar, as well as Ruben Salazar and Carlos Verdesoto.

Groups supporting marriage only between a man and woman have said the issue should only be resolved through a popular consultation.
