I read an old article  (2014) about Monkey Hill Reserve in Takoradi where monkeys live in the trees.  I went along to see them but the place is derelict and deserted.  I asked two locals separately who told me the locals had eaten all the monkeys. Does anyone know anything about this place?

It's probably true. We went to one near Kakum National Park in 2012. There is an organisation -WAPCA which may be able to give you information

Thank you. I am reading about the area now. How sad. It is abandoned and used by criminals and drug users.

If you are interested in getting involved I suggest you contact  that organisation to see what could be done

Thanks. I have emailed them.

Thanks for the advice. I have contacted them and alerted them to the state of the place. Will follow up soon x

I followed up on this and was told by a resident that the monkies are being reintroduced and protected.  Still not seen one yet. Here's an article about it -
