Cooking like a local in Mongolia

Hello,

Enjoying the local food of your expat country is great, but learning to cook the dishes yourself is even better. Please share what it's like cooking like a local in Mongolia.

What are some of the most popular local dishes that are easy to prepare?

What are the most common ingredients used in dishes in Mongolia? Where can you purchase them?

Is there a specific technique or a secret ingredient to master the local cuisine?

Are there resources available to teach you to cook like a local (classes, websites, etc.)?

What are the advantages of learning to prepare local dishes in Mongolia?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Making a stew ✊✊✊

We Mongolians prefer to use bones with chunks of meat on them. Once the bones are boiled with coriander and other veggie roots leave them simmering for at least a couple of hours. Then season them with all your preferred spices and herbs/greens and vola! The dish is ready. We don't make gravy specifically, however, into the remaining thicked up broth we usually finely chop in some very fresh green onions, garlic, some coriander and parsley leaves and add a dash of soya sauce. As simple as that 😝😝...

Or add some handmade noodles to the soup...

Seems, stew is one of the most popular and easiest dish to make and enjoy around the world! Nothing new as it has turned out 😊😊😊
