Sub : Certification of death Cerificate issued in USA for Use in India for Bank and Mutual fund purpose

Querry
My father in law was travelling to USA on B1 Visa and he passed away in San Diego , we want To authenticate/apostile a U.S. document (Death Certifcate ) for use in India, what is the procedure and what are documents required ?

The Apostile has to be done in Indian Embassy in USA or MEA in India ?

US embassies do not offer notary related services to non US citizens

Google is your friend there are a number of fee based Apostille services in San Diego.

Although, foreign nationals cannot obtain services from US Agency, you can certainly obtain the Apostille on your father's death certificate that was issued from a State agency in the US. If you'd like more information, feel free to reach out.
