Hello Left France to settle in Vilamoura in December 2013. Not easy the first year, especially without speaking Portuguese, with a difficult path between the Portuguese administration, which was rather accommodating and friendly, and the French, so unaccustomed to expatriation. I returned to France for the summer and left at the beginning of September, spending roughly 8 months in Portugal and 4 months in France. Very nice life, a little less expensive, with very welcoming Portuguese people. Cruel lack of local support networks for new people for the procedures (despite the wise advice of expat blog contributors and learning the language, the phonetics of which is delicate.
