It's exotic. It's the combination of ex-communist country, European modern lifestyle and culture. You can find a traditional market, and people have small shops by the side of the road, like you find in Asian countries. People who live in the mountain still maintain their own culture. I dont understand why many other European countries portray Romania as a very terrible country.

Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany

I reunited with my husband, who at that time, worked in Villingen-Schwenningen for few months. So, I was just a traveler.

It was cool, new place, with a beautiful Black Forest.
People were not that nice (I assume because it is a small town), so cold and the weather was not friendly.

It's a neighborhood country. The language is pretty similar. Things are not so expensive.
People are so much segregated, between Chinese, Malay, and Indian.

Rochester, USA

I spent one year in Rochester,New York. I received a scholarship to study English literature at Nazareth College, Rochester. Though, I lived in a dormitory, I made friends, not only with students, but also with Americans (children, teenagers, and elderly people)
I was a student, and an intern in my college.
People were pretty open-minded in New York. Almost everything is well organized. It's not far from Canada :)
It's too cold for a tropical girl like me. Public transportation is not that easy. Cell phone charge is pretty expensive. If you use prepaid, mostly you will get charged for incoming call and text. So, if you dont have credit on your phone, you can only talk with 911 dispatcher.

it was the first time for me to go abroad. So, I was nothing but excited about the trip. London is a very beautiful city. It's very multicultural, where I felt fit in.

I was born and grew up in this tropical country. All my childhood, teenage, and some part of my adolescence life are deep-rooted in Indonesia, particularly in Malang, East Java.
I was a student. But during my college time, I did some part time jobs, such as article writer for a charity magazine, English teacher for young learners, blog writing, and English-Indonesian translation.
I like almost everything about this country. I would say it's quite safe. People are open to help you, especially when you are a foreigner. Things are inexpensive. Public transportation is pretty easy. And you will always be spoiled by the weather.
the governmental bureaucracy, flood, not aware of queue, crazy drivers and lateness.
