Hello, Well yes... IT CAN BE DONE... I moved to Portugal! and I will briefly tell you how: - I knew the country from previous travel experiences, - for a couple of months I studied the recent history of the country on the web and by reading the various comments in the "Groups" (albeit conflicting...) I documented myself as best I could... - finally I decided on an exploratory trip of about ten days, purchasing a one-way ticket ... to Lisbon, with the intention of traveling along the coast from one end to the other ...; "I forgot... before leaving I submitted the request to pre-register with AIRE to the Municipality" and after a few days in Lisbon, always fascinating to revisit, I began my adventure from the North ... taking a train to Viana do Castelo ... * I immediately liked the location... (even though the weather wasn't so kind in those days...?) * I was immediately able to meet some compatriots I met online... and without hesitation I faced the problem... * YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT but in 1 week (5 working days) I completed my process, independently and without relying on agencies (?): - Found T1 house for rent for the 1st year, - perfected N.I.F. (tax identification number), already obtained in Lisbon without many formalities, with the new address, - activate all utilities (electricity, water, ...), - opened a bank account, - submitted the request to obtain the qualification of R.N.H. (non-habitual resident) and shortly accepted... - definition of AIRE registration with the Embassy of Lisbon, What's missing? - INPS practice followed by the Patronato, - complete the move in a short time... ??? and what else??? N.B. : For relations with institutional offices, it is still preferable to rely on a valid local professional.
