hello, we retired from France and decided to settle in Spain for the climate and the Spanish joie de vivre. We started with two 2-month trips in winter by motorhome in 2011 and 2012 and chose the Alicante region - south which we found warmer compared to the cities further north. In October 2013 we rented a house near Elche to take the time to look for a good buying opportunity and we bought our house in January in the Marina de San Fulgencio urbanization. The city does not attract us at all and the beaches of the Marina and Guardamar del Segura are much more beautiful than those of Alicante. We really like Spain.
