I have lived in Spain for 8 years where I came, in retirement, to follow my Spanish husband and because I hoped to find warmth all year round but I was disappointed because I only have heat from May to November. From next winter, I have decided to go and live out these cold months in a warm place (perhaps in the Canaries). Do I like living in Spain? yes and no especially since my daughter returned to France with my 5 year old grandson and I know she would need me in France but I intend to go back to Spain and France during the school holidays. There are pros and cons in each country.
