Join Tours For Books on December 25 to bring smiles and cheer to the underprivileged children in Ba Vi district and learn about Vietnamese culture!
ABOUT THE TRIP:
Get in the holiday spirit while giving back!
Join a small group of individuals from Hanoi to attend a Christmas Party with the children of Ba Trai, Khanh Thuong, Xuan Khanh, and Vi Thuy villages of the Ba Vi district. Give books and scholarship to the underprivileged children and help make their future brighter.
Before the party, you will visit the Vietnam National Villages For Ethnic Culture and Tourism where you can learn about Gia Rai ethnic group and watch their amazing traditional musical instrument performance.
You’ll also get the opportunity to learn to cook traditional Vietnamese dishes and have dinner with a local Vietnamese family of Ba Vi.
ITINERARY
* 1pm: Our van will pick you up at the meeting point in Hanoi center where we will depart for Ba Vi.
* 2-2.30 pm: Upon arriving at the Vietnam National Villages for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, we will meet and talk to the artisans of Gia Rai ethnic group to learn about their culture and lifestyle. You will have an opportunity to taste authentic coffee/cacao from Dak Lak province located in Vietnam's Central Highland and watch the traditional musical instrument performance.
* 4-6 pm: Join a cooking class offered by a local Vietnamese family where you will learn how to make spring rolls and other Vietnamese dishes.
* 7-9pm: Attend a Christmas party with the children of Ba Vi. You will dress as Mr & Mrs Santa Claus to help give gifts (books and scholarship) to the children. You are also welcome to lead a game, sing songs, and teach the children a song or dance (please inform us in advance).
* 9 pm: Depart for Hanoi. We will bring you back to the same meeting point as our departure. Set to arrive around 10 pm.
