Smooth Move - International Education Consultancy

Smooth Move – International Education Consultancy helps families relocating to Spain choose and apply to the right private or international school. Choosing a school in an unfamiliar system is often one of the hardest parts of a move. Schools that look similar online can differ greatly in curriculum, language environment, admissions requirements and daily culture.

Our founder previously worked as Admissions Manager at an American school in Madrid. This gives families an insider’s view of how admissions really work: what schools look for, how timelines and waiting lists operate, and how to present each child at their best. Most of our clients are American families, and we advise across British, IB, American, French, German and Spanish curricula. We work with families moving to Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and elsewhere in Spain.

Every family starts with a free 20-minute online consultation. We listen to your plans, explain how the system works and recommend the support that fits.

Express School Advisory: a one-hour video consultation for families who need clear, expert guidance quickly on which schools and curricula suit their child, and what to do next.

School Search & Applications: personal guidance from shortlist to enrolment. It includes private sessions, a tailored shortlist of schools, checking current availability, full application support, coordination of school visits and admissions meetings, and ongoing advice by phone and email.

Full Support: our most complete service, for families who want help with the whole move. Alongside school search and applications, it includes introductions to trusted real estate, legal and relocation professionals, help with housing, language classes, summer camps and other practical needs, and follow-up during your first year in Spain.

We always recommend choosing the school first, then the area to live, so your family can settle in sooner.
