Optimal Counselling

Living abroad is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. Homesickness, feeling isolated, adapting to new cultural norms, or even navigating long-distance relationships can take a real toll. I know this because I’ve worked with many clients who’ve faced exactly these challenges and experienced it myself.

That’s why I set up Optimal Counselling: to offer a safe, supportive space where you can talk things through, make sense of your experience and build strategies to feel more grounded and fulfilled.

What I offer:

Specialist expat support – dealing with transition, identity shifts, culture shock, and life away from home.

Online and in-person sessions – so whether you’re in Dublin, elsewhere in Ireland, or living abroad, you can access help when you need it.

Individual counselling for anxiety, stress, depression, grief, self-esteem and life changes.

Couples counselling – whether you’re navigating cross-cultural relationships, long-distance pressures, or just trying to reconnect.

Career and lifestyle coaching – especially useful if you’re trying to find your professional path in a new country.

I’m an accredited psychotherapist with the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP), and I tailor my approach to each client. Insurance cover is available (VHI, Laya, Aviva, Irish Life), and sessions can be arranged flexibly to suit different time zones.
