Riyadh Tour Bus

Anyone tried the Riyadh Tour Bus? any good?

http://www.scta.gov.sa/en/mediaCenter/N … -2011.aspx

Does any want to try the bus? we could go as a group?

the info I have so far:
"RIYADH: The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has launched a city tour program in Riyadh in association with Saudi Arabian Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) to help interested people visit major tourist spots in the city.

The tour includes visits to the National Museum, Masmak Palace and Azzal Souk, the commission said, adding that the city tour would be available on all days.

Other places to include in the tour program are Faisaliyah Tower, Kingdom Tower, Marriott Hotel, Diriya and Wadi Hanifa.

The buses will start from Marriott, Faisaliyah Tower, Kingdom Tower, Visitors Center, Sadd Al-Alab and Wadi Hanifa and tickets will be sold at counters in Kingdom Tower, Faisaliyah Tower and the Marriott.

The tourists will be accompanied by a guide. A working team comprising officials from the SCTA and SAPTCO has been set up to manage the program."

is this operational? This is a good initiative....

any plans for the members to go with this tour? let's go together...

Gosh i rather tour RIyadh in my car with my friends shouting in the back and music blaring :P lol . Nice TOur by the way ;)

I saw one of those coaches in front of Kingdom Tower.

The trip seems to be designed for people who come for a few days to Riyadh.

Call it bus-trip or buzzzz-trip (you would be more busy busing around the buzy roads )

Day trips to one / two locations with picnic would have been better appreciated by residents.

Well I'm here for the next five days waiting for my iqama to be prcessed so these tours sound like good activities. I'll try the museum tour tonight

My friend went to Faisaliah to get tickets for the daily tour bus and was laughed at and told it was for men only. Does anyone know if this is correct? :unsure

I have been with my wife and her friend (also female)....there were another 3 females on the bus, we had no problems with the tickets.

Got the tickets from Mariott Hotel

SaudiUK

Thanks very much

I've been to the museum 3X now.  It's so much more than I thought it would be--very very good!

If I remember correctly, it's 10SAR to get in and you don't need a guide or anything.  Everything is written in English as well as Arabic.

Have fun!

National Museum is open...defintely go ...a lot better then what most people would think...so do give it a visit.

Entrance is SR 10

I was impressed.
