I was the same when i first landed here !

Been in Bahrain 5 years now & you'll find it's very easy to find a few groups willing to have a good few cold beers.

Really? I've been here 5 months now and can't seem to meet any brits to hang out with...sounds desperate doesn't it? Fact, I have plenty of US friends but I miss talking to people with my own sense of humor etc. if it even makes any sense?

It might be worth joining one of the social clubs, they each have a different crowd, all generally good fun and have plenty of events. Plus once a member of one you can gain entry to the others, so best to pick one that is closest to where you live.
