I am looking for some advice please a friend of mine from Venezuela married a European and moved to Ireland 3 years ago the marriage has broken down and the European is looking for a divorce - how can my friend stay in Ireland as she only has a resident card and is only 3 years here - I would appreciate any help or advice thank you in advance

Hi, from what I have read online and understood if she applied for the Permit under the premise she was married and that relationship has broken down she will need to leave Ireland, or get a job and a Permit (Stamp 4) to continue staying in Ireland. She needs to have been there 5 years before applying for Residency.
She is best to call into the Immigration office in Dublin and go through the scenarios with them.
