Environmental protection in Paraguay

Hi,

Environmental protection is a challenging issue for all the countries around the world. Would you say this issue is deemed of significance in Paraguay?

Is the country going green through initiatives like waste management and selective sorting programs, renewable energies, public transport, green awareness campaigns and so forth?

How do you personally commit to improve the environment in your daily life?

We would greatly appreciate if you could tell us more about the various local initiatives for sustainable development in Paraguay.

Many thanks in advance!

I was one the contributors for the green initiative airport manual at Chicago Department of Aviation and what I can see here in Asuncion is that there is no much done in this area. There is a lot of electricity but diesel buses are in future plans. The sun is all over but no solar panels. In the Chaco area is windy but no wind mills generators. There is a lot of water but is not used to maintain the temperature in a house. Plastic bags are all over / garbage are all over  ... basically I have not seen much of a green initiative but I may be wrong because I'm kind of "new" in Asuncion and/or is not advertise.
Please prove me wrong
