District 9 borders Đồng Nai Province (River Dong Nai) to the east, Bình Dương Province to the west, District 2 to the south, and Thủ Đức District to the west.

Neither the sewage laden River SaiGon nor River Dong Nai have ever appealed to me and likely the beaches aren't that great, Vung Tau has better beaches, the nicest ones being north from the city on the coast.

Why do you live in Vung Tau and work in District 9 ? District 9 is in Ho Chi Minh City, ~ 100 km far away from Vung Tau. It will take 4 hours a day to go to work and back home.

SORRY!!! got horribly confused...I'll be working in the Dai An residential area in Vung Tau....any beaches close by there? and accommodation?

Would you be working at the SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, Lot D3, Dai An Residential Area, Ward 9, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau? Sounds like a new area. Not on the maps.

Hi Su. You'll be pleased to learn that nowhere is far from a beach in Vung Tau. Being on a peninsular we are surrounded on the East and South sides by lovely beaches. Most people go to what's called 'back beach' which is on the East side. South beach faces the estuary so there can be all sorts of things coming down from HCM, plus lots of vessels anchor off there and they pump out effluent and other rubbish. If you want to live close to the beach expect to pay a higher rent. If you search in Lac Long Quan which is in Phuong 2 you may be lucky to find a reasonable place to stay. Good luck
