Compound in Jeddah to rent in

Good day all, my husband arrived in Jeddah last week, we are looking for a villa in a nice compound with 2 or 3 bedrooms and private garden if possible. Im also not sure what is cheap and what is expensive there.  We are looking to rent in Jeddah or closes to Kaust, please inbox me at [email protected]  - thank you so much!

Hi,

Are you a KAUST employee? I have heard that KAUST offers accommodation within the campus, is that true?

Rgds.
Sohail

Although KAUST is close to Jeddah I wouldnt choose to live there if you are workingat KAUST.

Your better trying to get somewhere a lot closer, less of a commute and eaier life!

Is your husband working at KAUST?  Haven't they provided on-site housing?  There are no compounds near KAUST, as far as I know, as KAUST is in a small fishing village, with no Westerners or professionals living in the village.

As for Jeddah, here is what I wrote to someone else who asked for compounds:

Compound lists:

Look for compounds in the following districts: Naeem, Mohammadiyah, Shati, Basateen, Zahra, Salama, Rawdah.

Some compounds I would recommend, in no particular order:

Hajarayn (I lived here until July 2013, for 5.5 years)
Rumaih
Shaker
Andalus
Sierra
Basateen
Belleveue
Lotus
Sari Palm
Saudia City

(I have been inside all of them)

Links above will give you descriptions and perhaps pics as well, but you can google for pics. Find other suitable ones from the links.

Contact them for latest prices, and to put your name down on their waiting lists. Better yet, make appointments with the managers to go visit so you can see inside with your own eyes. Put your name down on all, even the ones at the bottom of your preference list, because trust me, living in pretty much any compound in this country is better than living in the poshest triple story villa--rent SR 200,000+/year--not on a compound, and this is especially true if you have kids.

Hi Trap, why do you say living in compound is so much better?

I know they are certainly the preference for most expats but doesn't it depend on what the person is looking for also?

Sharbatly village compound is the best.

Gary, are there still vacancies at MB?

Thanks,

Rigger

Not til July supposedly... A 2br and a 3br. Not sure if someone else has put cash deposit already. Check out Makarim Residences Rawdhah.. Really really nice property! It's a 28 unit or so compound. Good luck.

Thanks!  While I do often rely on luck for most things - and a prayer or two - in this case, my employer is sourcing my accommodation for me.  I will let them know of opportunities at MB.   One of our directors lives there.

It is but way out of Jeddah
