Print Temporary CPF Card

Hi Matt,

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I have heard from other members that they don't issue a permanent plastic CPF card anymore, that they just issue the slip of paper with your CPF number and that's it.

Kind of makes sense because other forms of ID incorporate the CPF number and the new Brazilian identity card, their will show it too.

Is there some particular reason that you need a printout of the card, or do you really just need the number?

I only wanted a copy because I have yet to memorize it and do not want to have to go back to the Receita Federal again unless I have to.

Good plan! I know it took me forever to memorize mine (old guys can be that way). Which is funny since I can remember the number of the very first driver's licence I ever held back when I was 16.

I just received my CPF number from Receita Federal. It's a black and white print out and they said it's the final one. When I paid for it at the correio I gave them my current address and I'm wondering whether and how I have to update this address when I move?

The Receita Federal site for confirmation of inscription in the CPF and printing off the card is:

Fill out all the information in the blank fields. Make sure you use your mother's full name exactly as you gave it to the Receita Federal when you applied for the CPF. Don't worry about the Titulo Eleitoral field, expats don't have a voter's card.

Note: The Receita Federal no longer issues the plastic (permanent) CPF card that they once did. This printable version is all there is anymore.

This link is for a new print out of the CPF card, noting that the control code on the back of the card would change. But it does not provide a solution for address change notifications.
At registration, as family name of my mother her unmarried name was used (as it used to be custom in my country). On some other documents from back home, her married name is used. Basically, both is correct but it is not in line. Should her name be changed at the Receita Federal and if yes, how?

I don't even know anyone who actually bothers to update their CPF for change of address. It takes a trip to the Receita Federal or authorized agency in order to do it. I don't even think that many Brazilians even do it. However, if you're determined to do so, here is a link:

In order to change your mother's name, I expect that it would be a simple matter of taking documents issued in both names and informing them that some were issued in her maiden name and others in her married name.
